Our Story

Herbert Roofing began with a simple mission: to protect Michigan families and businesses with reliable, high-quality roofing. What started as a small, family-owned business has grown into one of Michigan’s most trusted roofing companies, with offices in Saginaw, Midland, Harbor Springs, and Traverse City. Over the years, we’ve built our reputation on hard work, honest service, and a commitment to doing things right the first time. While our tools and technology have evolved, our values remain the same—treating every customer like family and every roof like it’s protecting our own home.

Jason & Hala Herbert

Owners

Jason started working full-time in the family business after high school. He started on the clean-up crew, and eventually worked his way up to the foreman of the flat crew. In 2008, he bought the business from his father, Brian, with his business partner Jake Maynard. In 2017, he married his wife, Hala. At the end of 2017, Jake unexpectedly passed away, leaving the business in the full-time care of Jason and Hala. Jason and Hala have 6 kids, 5 boys and 1 girl. Their names are: Braden, Brody, Nolan, Lucas, Ella and Kaiden. They enjoy riding motorcycles, spending time with their family, and boating in the summer. He and Hala also love to travel as much as possible. They are passionate about the business and the people they work with. They are dedicated to changing the lives of everyone possible by providing them with opportunities to grow within the business. They are fearless and compassionate leaders, having big goals for the company’s future.

Ann Wenglikowski

Vice President/ Integrator
Ann and her husband Mark live in Bay City and have 8 adopted children and 6 grandchildren! Ann joined Herbert Roofing in 2022 and when she is not working, she enjoys time with her family and friends and is active in her church. Ann’s positive attitude is motivated by a quote from Michael Altshuler “The bad news is time flies – The good news is you’re the pilot.”

Tom Richter

Director of Finance & Administration

Tom brings several years of finance experience to Herbert Roofing, having previously managed lumber yards across Michigan’s west side with USLBM, including Zeeland, Standard, and Northern Lumber Companies. Before that, he spent several years with SYSCO Foods as a controller, building a strong foundation in financial leadership and operations. Originally from Saginaw, Tom grew up spending time on the Saginaw Bay. After living out of state and raising a family, he returned to his roots in Michigan, where both his and his wife’s families reside. Now, they are eagerly awaiting the day they become grandparents. Known for his friendly and down-to-earth personality, Tom breaks the mold of the traditional “uptight finance and admin geek.” He brings warmth, humor, and approachability to the workplace—qualities that make him a perfect fit for Herbert Roofing’s culture of teamwork, hard work, and fun.

Rich has been here at Herbert Roofing since 2022 and is on our sales team. He has a long history of experience in the construction industry and Rich is the self-proclaimed ‘sales manager favorite’ and motivated by the quote “the early worm gets the bird.”

Alex Wood

Director of Sales & Marketing
Alex Wood joined Herbert Roofing in 2025 as the Director of Sales & Marketing, bringing over 15 years of experience in sales and marketing within the building materials and kitchen and bath design industries. Originally from Michigan’s Thumb region, Alex now resides in Saginaw Township with his wife and their three boys. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors—hunting, fishing, camping, and trail riding are a few of his favorite ways to unwind. Alex takes great pride in working for a company that genuinely treats people the right way—customers, coworkers, and the community alike. For him, Herbert Roofing stands apart because relationships come first and doing the right thing isn’t just expected, it’s who we are.

Sales Trainer

Dillion Weadock joined Herbert Roofing in 2024 with over 12 years of experience in sales, marketing, and consulting. His career spans working with marketing and consulting firms and serving as a commercial consultant for an HVAC company. With a strong background in client relations and problem-solving, Dillion is committed to helping clients achieve their goals and exceed expectations and doing that through providing the best guidance to his sales team. A single dad of two for the past seven years, Dillion’s personal life is driven by his love for sports, playing video games with friends, and finding joy in moments of laughter. He also has a passion for boxing, having competed in the Jr. Olympics in 2006. Dillion’s goal is to be known as the best sales consultant in the industry. He appreciates Herbert Roofing’s unique family-first approach, where they focus on building relationships and feeding your dreams—both in business and in life.

Marketing Manager
Maddie Daenzer joined Herbert Roofing in 2025. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing from Northwood University. Outside of work, Maddie loves helping others see the good in things, spending time with her family and friends, Jeeping, shooting skeet, riding her horse, and enjoying the outdoors. A fun fact about Maddie is that she loves traveling and hopes to visit every state in the U.S. She is also passionate about holistic health. Maddie’s big goal is to be a positive light and impact everyone she meets. She values Herbert Roofing for its genuine care and understanding that everyone brings something valuable to the table.

Lexi Alquraish joined Herbert Roofing in 2024 and currently serves as the Call Center Manager. A year ahead of her peers, she graduated high school in 2015 before pursuing medical college, where she discovered her true passion for connecting with people in a different way. Lexi finds joy in getting to know others and helping whenever she can. Outside of work, she loves camping, making memories with her family, and listening to all kinds of music. Married since February 2023, Lexi is also an animal lover with a big heart for kids and a strong interest in astrology. Known for her sense of humor and compassionate nature, she strives to lift others up, help them recognize their worth, and spread positivity wherever she goes. To Lexi, Herbert Roofing stands out because it genuinely cares about its people—encouraging growth, confidence, and success while helping each person reach their full potential.

Tony Mahoney joined Herbert Roofing in 2024 and brings more than 10 years of sales experience and over 5 years in construction and home remodeling. Based in Midland, Tony is an avid golfer, sports fan, and proud father of two. As the youngest of seven siblings, Tony values honesty and authenticity, both in his personal life and professional career. He believes that Herbert Roofing’s close-knit, family-oriented environment makes it truly special, where everyone treats each other like family.

He is approachable, easygoing, and hard-working and he has become one of our top salesmen. Tim and his wife, Jacquie, have 2 daughters and own an ice cream shop in Bay City called Buoy 18. Tim also enjoys sailboat racing.

Jeremy Kushel became part of the Herbert Roofing team in 2023 and has 25 years of experience in quality assurance. Outside of work, Jeremy is deeply involved in coaching his kids’ sports teams and participating in church activities. Originally from Minnesota, Jeremy has lived in Michigan for the past 20 years and enjoys golfing in his spare time. He wants to be remembered not for how much money he is worth or made but for the way he raised his family and presents himself. Jeremy’s motivation is strongly backed by Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me.” Jeremy values the strong sense of family at Herbert Roofing, where everyone supports each other.

A remarkable fact about him is that he once survived a 40-foot fall from a roof—and is still proudly committed to the trade.
